Vanessa Montes
Coordinator of Student Support

Vanessa was born in the Golden State — California. Her passion for education started in grade school where she dreamed of becoming a teacher. After high school she attended California State University, Stanislaus where she graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication Studies. For the duration of school she worked as a behavior technician doing in-home/school/clinic-based services for learners with exceptionalities. She moved to Honolulu in 2013 to pursue a Master of Arts degree in Special Education with an emphasis on autism. Vanessa has worked at many schools across the island and is excited to call SEEQS her new home. Outside of SEEQS she loves to spend time with her family, camp, practice yoga, sew, and play at the beach.

"I work at SEEQS because it is an environment in which I am able to utilize my passion for education and engage in community sustainability efforts with like-minded individuals. It is a joy to teach and learn alongside students who hold the future of our planet in their hands."
