Ria Shah
Educational Assistant

Ria is a recent Cognitive Science in Education master's graduate from Teachers College, Columbia University. Before completing her master’s, she earned her undergraduate degree in Psychology at the University of Kent, in the United Kingdom. Her desire to pursue a career in education originates from her own learning differences, and she is keen on contributing to research involving children with dyslexia. She believes that a child should have access to a curriculum that puts the student’s needs at the center of learning. Ria’s previous experience includes conducting MRI studies investigating the biomarkers of dyslexia in children aged 2-10 years at Harvard Graduate School of Education. Her teaching experience involves delivering fun and creative lessons about psychological myths to middle and high schoolers. She is keen to apply her experiences at SEEQS and to gain valuable knowledge in the field before pursuing a PhD in Educational Psychology. In her spare time, she enjoys baking, ceramics, knitting, and photography. Ria is excited to learn more about Hawaiian culture and all the beauty Hawaii has to offer!

“It excites me to see SEEQS apply the research that promotes effective learning. SEEQS core principles reflect that children, and their individual needs, are at the heart of learning. It is an honor to see these principals empower the students at SEEQS.”
