Madison Guseman
ELA Teacher
Maddie was born and raised in Uniontown, Pennsylvania, a small town just south of Pittsburgh (Go Steelers!). Growing up in an Italian family, food was her family’s love language. Her grandparents lived above their restaurant, where she learned the value of community, connection, and bringing people together. Maddie earned her bachelor's degree in International Relations and Psychology from Duquesne University before pursuing a career in education, inspired by a passion for equity and social justice. She later earned her Master of Arts in Education from Grand Canyon University in 2022.
This year marks Maddie’s eighth year in education. She began her teaching career in Charlotte, North Carolina, where she spent five years teaching before moving to Hawaiʻi, where she is now in her third year. Throughout Maddie’s career, she’s worked in public schools, charter schools, and nonprofit educational settings, taught both elementary and high school students, and coached middle school volleyball.
