Kristen Lee
Science Teacher
Kristen (Ms. KD) was born in Ohio, but she has since called many cities home, including Nashville, Chicago, and Los Angeles. As the daughter of a pastor, she was taught the value of serving others at a young age, but it wasn’t until college that she solidified her passion for service in education. While studying biology and psychology at Northwestern University, Ms. KD had the chance to learn about education and experience teaching in a variety of settings, from tutoring college peers to working with students of all ages at Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago. It was also during this time that Ms. KD got to learn from and work with elementary students while abroad in Scandinavia, where she experienced the value of place-based education and reverence for our environment. After graduating from Northwestern with the intention to serve others through teaching, Ms. KD went on to earn her Masters in Education from Stanford University. As a part of the SEEQS team, Ms. KD is excited to bring her passion for service, desire to care for and learn about our environment, and deep love of science.
Outside of the classroom, Kristen loves crafts, puzzles, origami, baking, karaoke, hiking, and pickleball! She proudly holds many titles: daughter (of Jacob), sister (to Julianna), partner (of Jayson), teacher (of science), and friend (to all).
“I work at SEEQS because our future relies on supporting and learning from both our youth and our environment at every possible opportunity.”
