Caleb Shields
ELA Teacher
Caleb Shields grew up in Venice, California, and is excited to be joining the SEEQS community. Before moving to Hawaiʻi, Caleb taught second grade and elementary science in Pacific Palisades and Santa Monica, where he developed a passion for creating engaging, student-centered learning experiences that inspire curiosity, confidence, and connection.
Hawaiʻi has long felt like a second home to Caleb through his previous professional career in music, which brought him to the islands often and deepened his appreciation for the people, culture, and sense of community found here. Those experiences ultimately helped shape his decision to pursue a career in education and return to Hawaiʻi in the classroom.
Outside of school, Caleb enjoys exploring the islands, spending time outdoors, discovering great sushi spots, sharing a good laugh, and seeking out new adventures. As an educator, he believes that every student has a unique story worth hearing and strives to build authentic relationships where students feel seen, valued, challenged, and empowered to grow.
