Technology Coordinator at SEEQS
SEEQS is hiring a technology coordinator for the 2014-2015 School Year to support students and teachers with a One-to-One program using Google Chromebooks and cloud-based collaborative work.

- Considerable working knowledge of computer hardware and software used in the school (e.g. Apple, Microsoft, Google Chromebooks and Apps for Education, and K-12 education software and applications).
- Demonstrated ability to set up and maintain computer networks (both Ethernet and WiFi), firewall, web content filtering, and background in Windows, and/or Linux and/or AppleShare networking techniques.
- Evidence of technology vision and leadership as well as good organizational skills.
- Bachelors degree or equivalent certifications in a related field
- Significant experience working with middle school-aged students
- Teaching experience at the K-12 level
- Experience in providing training for adults
- Experience with and ability to teach coding and hardware basics

Primary Responsibilities
- Management of devices, network, and domains
- Maintains, inspects, organizes, and inventories computer and technology equipment and network devices.
- Oversees and maintains the school wired and wireless network infrastructure, including Internet connectivity, firewall, and web content filters
- Oversees and maintains any hardware and software.
- Manages the SEEQS website(s) and Google Apps for Education domains.
- Loads, maintains and learns new software programs and operating systems and supports staff with usage as needed.
- Upgrades or replaces defective or inadequate software packages.
- Development of School Technology plans and systems
- Writes, updates, and implements the SEEQS Technology Plan
- Communicates Technology Plan to stakeholders, including students, parents, and faculty
- Help-desk Services
- Assists faculty, students, and guests with computer and technology issues.
- Responds to inquiries from faculty concerning systems operation, system hardware, and peripheral components such as monitors, keyboards, and printers related to school-owned equipment.
- Responds to technical support requests with basic troubleshooting and makes repairs when appropriate.
- Curriculum Integration and Instruction
- Collaborates regularly and energetically with colleagues to develop effective learning experiences for a diverse student body.
- Interfaces with various external programs (JumpRope grading system, HSA testing, ESIS (student information system), etc.)
- Serves as a source of information on trends, research, applications, and effective practices related to technology use in the school program.
- Professional Development
- Provides sustained, in-depth professional development for faculty which focuses on the integration of technology and curriculum.
- Models effective practices and strategies for fellow faculty members.
- Maintains relationships with one or more support companies or individuals as a source of expertise and onsite as-needed help.
- Develops and continually improves professional skills appropriate to the job.
- Participates in external professional development as decided with School Leader.

Hiring Process
- Round 1: Candidates for this round will be interviewed by telephone. SEEQS will contact candidates to schedule a 20-minute interview.
- Round 2: Candidates who are invited to the second round of the interview process must prepare a portfolio or e-portfolio with examples of relevant work. Candidates will also be expected to interact with a real audience (provided).
- Round 3: Candidates may be asked to take part in a third and final interview phase involving a collaborative work session with SEEQS faculty. During the activity, candidates and faculty will work together on a project relevant to the school.
Final candidates will be expected to provide three to five references: letters and/or contact information. Applicants are encouraged to include references from supervisors, teaching colleagues and students. Final candidates must also complete an employment application and provide college or university transcripts and proof of licensure (if applicable).
Hiring is contingent upon successful completion of employment verification, background check, and fingerprinting.
Salary is commensurate with experience and qualifications and may be subject to the Hawaii Government Employees Association salary scale. Salary range $35,000-$48,000.
