It's a new year, and we're off to a running start here at SEEQS! We spent two days at overnight camp--6th & 7th graders at Camp Palehua (formerly Camp Timberline) and 8th graders at Winners' Camp. See photos below!
This week all the EQS groups are going on full-day field studies to various locations around town. Stay tuned for photos updates on those trips next week!
Plus, we've made great progress on our matching challenge for our annual fund (but still need more help!), and we've opened enrollment for the 2016-2017 School Year.
SEEQERS AT OVERNIGHT CAMP
On January 11 and 12, our 6th and 7th grade students had a community-building experience filled with nature and culture at Camp Palehua. Meanwhile, our 8th graders went to Winners' Camp for a cohort-building experience as they enter their last semester as middle schoolers at SEEQS.
SEEQERS FUND UPDATE
We're making great progress on our annual fund goal of $25,000 by February 1 to meet the generous matching challenge by the Seth Sprague Charitable Foundation. Help us meet that goal--there are just two weeks left to double your gift to the SEEQers fund! Donate by February 1, 2016 at www.seeqs.org/donate-now!
As a charter school, SEEQS has the freedom to create an exceptional and unique curriculum to help our students thrive. However, this freedom is dependent upon supporters like you. Charter schools receive less state funds per pupil than DOE schools; they also have far more costs to cover.
The State of Hawaii provides only $6,800 of the $10,000 it costs to educate a SEEQer. We must ask members from our community, like you, to help us raise this difference.
